Grant Thornton names Tomkinson Managing Partner of Chicago Practice

Grant Thornton LLP has named Vince Tomkinson office managing partner of its Chicago practice, effective Aug. 1, 2013. Most recently, Tomkinson served as office managing partner of Grant Thornton’s Detroit practice.
Tomkinson will succeed Mike Hall, who has served as the Chicago office managing partner since 1998 and will continue to serve as the Midwest region managing partner.

Previously, Tomkinson was an audit partner serving both publicly traded and privately held clients in a variety of industries. He has more than 25 years of experience in providing accounting and business consulting services to clients in the United States, Europe and Asia. He is experienced in assisting publicly traded companies with auditing and accounting needs and fulfilling SEC requirements, as well as transaction consultation and support relating to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and structured financings.
Tomkinson is a certified public accountant licensed in Michigan and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. He is currently a board member and treasurer of Forgotten Harvest, the country’s largest food rescue program.
Tomkinson received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from John Moores University in Liverpool, England.
